The Hank Zipzer series by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver is about a boy named Hank. Hank is a 4th-grader who lives in New York. He tends to get into trouble very often. For example, he has trouble reading fractions, so instead of putting a little chili powder in some enchiladas, he dumped the whole thing in. This series is about Hank and all of the problems he gets into.
I really like these books because they are short, funny, and you don’t have to think about them much. There are books where you really have to think about the story for it to make any sense, but these you can just read to relax. The books are really funny. The authors do a great job making it sound like a fourth-grader is talking about his life, not a grown-up. These books will appeal to girls and boys and are on a 4th-5th grade reading level.
